A silly exercise to compare dudes across different positions. But this is basically how much I’ve enjoyed watching each of these guys play each week. Basically “how good are they doing what they do”
I’m not going to rank guys who haven’t played much O or D reps or guys who got injured early like Diontae Johnson and Cam Heyward
| TJ Watt | Watt else can be said about the best defender in the NFL? |
| Alex Highsmith | He eats so good |
| George Pickens | Absurdly talented, horribly used |
| Keeanu Benton | Young rook has looked waaay better than I thought, need more PT |
| Joey Porter Jr. | ditto from above |
| Minkah Fitzpatrick | Hasn’t made the splash plays that we’re accustomed to seeing |
| Larry Ogunjobi | Holding down the d-line admirably in Cam’s absence |
| Elandon Roberts | Insane run defender, love watching him explode into the hole and make tackles |
| Broderick Jones | Only been 2 games but his last vs. Balt was AWESOME |
| Jaylen Warren | Legit explosive af and used on better playcalls than Najee |
| Cole Holcomb | Best LB we’ve had since Shaz (that isn’t saying much lol) |
| Najee Harris | Suffers from most his runs being telegraphed to the defense, almost no holes |
| Montravius Adams | Used as a nose but he’s not thicc enough for doubles IMO. But my god does he HUSTLE, got that DAWG |
| Kwon Alexander | A little better in coverage than the other two, had some decent plays but overall average |
| Calvin Austin | Explosive speed, rest of game is lacking |
| Markus Golden | Great rotational pass rush piece, sadly not incredible against the run |
| Pat Freiermuth | Wasn’t utilized enough when healthy, hope that changes when he gets back |
| Connor Heyward | Not a great blocker, but seems to get the job of getting open in space down |
| Isaac Seumalo | Struggled HEAVY against SF but since then has been real solid, makes a bit of sense since he was mostly a RG in Phi but LG with us |
| Nick Herbig | Needs many more reps, give TJ/Highsmith more breaks and let the young kid get his feet wetter |
| Patrick Peterson | Let up some big plays but sadly is our best CB besides JPJ |
| Kenny Pickett | Hard to separate his issues from Canada’s, def left some plays on the board |
| Armon Watts | Nothing special, doesn’t have a ton of reps |
| Damontae Kazee | This is about the meh line for me, everyone below this needs major improvement. Kazee has been very meh, not a good tackler, not crazy valuable in coverage either |
| James Daniels | Regressed from last year and now injured |
| Allen Robinson | Has some nice hands but lacks explosiveness and some lazy routes it seems |
| Chukwuma Okorafor | Brutal work at RT, def look to upgrade this position. I can’t believe he makes 8 figures a year |
| Darnell Washington | He was supposed to be a better blocker than this. Coach also doesn’t utilize his strengths well |
| Nate Herbig | About as good as Daniels (not great) but has played less |
| DeMarvin Leal | Disappointing, so streaky, he’ll have a great play then be replacement level on others |
| Isaiahh Loudermilk | Just is not stout enough |
| Levi Wallace | Burnt toast, not great against the run, slow |
| Mason Cole | This guy is getting shoved in lockers |
| Chandon Sullivan | Don’t hear his name much but take it from me looks way more cooked than Wallace, which is tough to do |
| Dan Moore Jr. | The best thing that’s happened to Pitt’s offenses is his injury |
